The interactive map was created using information from the Florida Department of Constabulary Enforcement, Florida Department of Instruction, U.South. Census Agency.

There are occasional instances where a student'south family fellow member or guardian is a registered sex offender. LCS runs all campus visitors through an instant screening system that checks the persons' identity against a national sex offender database.

Hunkiar said the district periodically meets to review and potentially update policy.

"We regularly review the district's policy related to sex activity offender-predators with our school administrations," Hunkiar said.

Both Leon County Sheriff's Function and Tallahassee Law Department have procedures in place for keeping tabs on those who register as sexual activity offenders and predators.

"We take a total-time detective and an analyst assigned to verify the addresses offenders and predators provide," said LCSO public information officeholder Lt. Grady Jordan. "They have to come in, depending on their designation, anywhere from quarterly to twice a twelvemonth to register at the Sheriff's Part."
